The Astros knew they were never getting Roger Clemens, so that's not considered a loss, but they could use one more starter, and closer Brad Lidge could be the chip they use.

The Phillies could use him.

May 13, 2007  12:09 PM ET

Florida could also use him...

May 13, 2007  04:01 PM ET

the Blue Jays need him.

May 13, 2007  04:38 PM ET

The Phillies could use him but they can't afford to give up a starter for him now that Myers is in the bullpen.

May 13, 2007  07:08 PM ET

The Phillies would use him and put Myers back in the rotation, and could offer Houston that ol redneck Jon Lieber, whose mammoth truck would fit in Texas, but whose lousy start today could kill any potential deal.

The Indians need somebody to replace Borowski, who is terrible. Fausto Carmona is ready to stay in the bigs, which means they have an extra starter after Westbrook comes back from the DL. Paul Byrd to Houston anybody?

May 13, 2007  10:47 PM ET

Lidge needs a new scene... The sooner he can get out of Houston that better it might be for his career and for the Astros. Sometimes guys need to play in different places to get their career back on track.

May 13, 2007  10:56 PM ET

I know he got the loss, but just how was Lieber's start today a lousy one? Your definition of a lousy start must be different than mine because 8 IP with only 1 ER is a pretty quality start in my book...

May 14, 2007  12:55 AM ET

how about Lidge to Cincinnati for Eric Milton and Elizandro Ramirez and a minor leaguer

May 14, 2007  01:03 AM ET

anybody can have him get out of here

May 14, 2007  09:47 AM ET

Lidge stinks... they should just convert Lidge to a starter...

May 14, 2007  09:58 AM ET

none of you know anything--it's been his mechanics, and he's fixing them...any deal proposed would be a steal. let's talk again in July, and then offer me something worthwhile

May 14, 2007  11:13 AM ET

I agree with Kean.....The Astros would be giving up too much and getting nothing in return. His value is crap right now and he is better than you guys think. He has the talent to be a closer in this league just be patient. Mechanics and mastering the mental side will be the keys to his success. If we work him in the 7th and 8th innings that will ease him into those important outings.

May 14, 2007  12:18 PM ET

Lieber's lousy start today????????????? 8 innings 1 earned run is lousy?

May 14, 2007  06:37 PM ET

How about the orioles? He can't be worst than their bullpen set up man>

May 15, 2007  09:06 AM ET

he needs a team with a pitching coach that can really work with him... for example the o's. only proub is the orioles have no one to give. He'll proub be on the stros for the rest of the year and then they'll look at the possibillity of moving him for his true worth.
