08:28 AM ET 08.23 | After another report on the health of Sidney Crosby, this one suggesting his concussion symptoms had returned and he canceled on-ice workouts, Crosby's agent tried to clear things up with a Monday statement. "Sidney hasn't been shut down by anyone. He has simply adjusted his summer program according to the different needs for the appropriate recovery. Training camp is three weeks from now. It is too premature to speculate all kinds of deliberate information at this point. Sidney will address the media at the appropriate time in order to give everyone an update. As far as I know training camp hasn't started yet." ... Crosby was diagnosed with a concussion Jan. 6 and sat out the rest of last season. He has not spoken publicly since April.

Lots of skating around the issue from a guy not playing the game.

Agents are always the best, most honest source of player information! ;-)

I'll wait for Sid's press conference.

Sad if it comes to that but better to sit for a year than go the Lindros route.

Sid already has a Cup, something Lindros never accomplished.

Nice wakeup post Cromster...I'm betting on the under for a response time from Burg fans. ;-)

Another day, another story, another thread...

Where there is smoke, there is usually fire. I think there could be some truth to the set back claims. Sid needs to say something, and soon. The whole team, including Sid should be making there way back to the Burgh in the next week, if not now, so we should know something. And I have always felt, if his symptoms don't subside, or he can't come back come December, he won't be able to.

Don't feed into this nonsense. That's what they want you to do. Ignore it. :)

Thanks Cromster, I needed that.

So Sid's agent was mad about the rumored set back and then doesn't say anything definite about his status. Sounds about right. Perhaps they should just wait until training camp opens and see if Sid shows up.

By the way, Pronger sux.

August 23, 2011  09:25 AM ET

So who comes back first, Sid or Pronger?

Sid will show up, Burgh. No doubt. Whether or not he will lace them up and skate, practice, be ready for "contact," is another story. He may just show to support his teammates. And at some point, there will have to be a decision made as hard as it may be. Sid is taking up 8.7 Mil of that cap space. Not that there is anyone out there that we could get or even close to his talent, but eventually...a decision will have to be made if he is not progressing. Get my drift?

Pronger....he's proven u don't need a brain to play his type of game....oh wait he's not suffering from post concussion syndrome.

Sid also doesn't have the meddling parents.

As for reports, I can't see that it matters as long as the Pens are getting updates. If the players and management are up to date on his progress, that is most important. Everyone else will find out in a couple of weeks. Of course, that means multiple speculative threads here at FN until then.

Now your getting it :)
