08:03 AM ET 08.24 | Injuries aren't doing the Giants any favors this offseason, which will place a spotlight directly on Prince Amukamara when he returns. [The] Giants can't afford to hear any excuses about rookie struggles or the offseason he lost to the lockout. With all the injuries in the secondary, they will need their first-round pick to be ready as quickly as he can. ... That won't be anytime soon, though. Amukamara broke a bone in his foot in just his second NFL practice and underwent surgery to have a pin inserted into it in early August. The rookie said he was initially told he would be out 8-10 weeks, and Tom Coughlin confirmed that timetable Tuesday. Reese told the Daily News he expects Amukamara back for Week 5.

The Giants will have a top tier defense again this season, with or without Prince.

This is true...

Difference is theirs are all getting injured.

Ours suck.

I was really disappointed when Dallas passed on him. We need lots and lots of help in our defensive backfield, and to pass on this guy was crazy....we could have released someone like Newman and started fresh- then got after Joseph instead of letting the Texans have him.

BINGO!

Injuries haven't done the Giants any favors for the past three years. The pressure is on the DL once again to pressure the QB, to make up for a weak secondary. But if opposing QBs have time or can extend plays by scrambling, Giants secondary is in trouble. But you never know, maybe Ross and Phillips will stay healthy this year.

Yeah I live with a die hard Philly fan (the ball and chain....), so it could be a REALLY LONG season for me...especially after rubbing in the three wins in a row the way I did two years ago.
