Belichick: Jets lied about taping

It just won't die. Patriots coach Bill Belichick said Friday the Jets never requested permission to use an extra video camera in last season's playoff game in Foxborough, directly contradicting Eric Mangini's explanation of the events. "I was never asked for permission nor was anyone in our video department asked for permission for a second end-zone camera," Belichick told NBCSports.com. Evidently, someone isn't telling the truth. Mangini, responding to published reports Wednesday that said a Jets cameraman was stopped from taping, said the team received approval from the Patriots to shoot from both end zones.

They did this, they did that.... who cares! I guess next, the NFL will hire Sen. Mitchell to find out who is the worse team at taking videos, just wait for the "report"! Look out Hockey world!!

Bilicheat really did it this time.

December 15, 2007  09:09 AM ET

I would have assumed he asked Kraft. He seems to be the one who would decide that, not Bellichick.

Nice try Bill:we all know you cheated....but nice try .

December 15, 2007  09:33 AM ET

Seems like the Pats play better now that they are under the microscope.

A lotta sour grapes out there.

December 15, 2007  09:51 AM ET

Of course Mangina cheats he was on the Soprano's

December 15, 2007  10:04 AM ET

The point is the Patriots grabbed the guy and told him to beat it and did not turn it into a federal offense like Mangina did. Everyone can keep saying that the Patriots cheated if it makes you feel better that they are running rough shot over the entire NFL. I can't wait until tomorrow. Pats 73- Jets 3. After the field goal it will be like Remember the Titans when the coach told the team "I don't want them to gain another yard".

belli is just trying to make another team look as bad as his from the cheating department.

if he was trying to make Mangini look bad, he would have ratted him out last year.
Do you honestly believe given the history that Eric would have asked for permission from the patriots and Bill would have GIVEN it ?
are you KIDDING me?

"what Belichick did was too blatant, and for it being that blatant, there was a reason for it"

I said the same thing before. No way is Belichick a stupid man.

December 15, 2007  10:37 AM ET

I just like seeing Mangini with egg on his face. He turned the whole start of the season into a gong show with his unnecessary whining, and then it turns out he uses the same tactics? Funny how what goes around tends to come around...

Word.

December 15, 2007  10:46 AM ET

nfl backed up what the jets had to say so there had to be something convincing for the nfl to acknowledge that they did no wrong...

December 15, 2007  11:05 AM ET

Call Bill Belichicka cheater if you want, but the man is a winner! I bet there's not one Jets player that wouldn't give his left nut to be on the Patriots roster.

Winning is winning and Belichick knows how to win [period] !

The NFL already said that the "Mangenius" did nothing wrong. This is all just Patriot propaganda to take the onus off of them. Why is this being brought out right now and not last season or even earlier this season? Because it's not a big deal.

This was the best Bellichick could think of? "We cheated........(pause for three months)....but so did they."

If you're going to make stuff up, don't be so lazy about it.

Can't these two get the sand out of their vag****?

Of course Mangini cheats! He learned from Bellichick.

Mangina is a snitch AND a liar...

BeernDrums, when you go the Canton NFL Football Hall of Fame, make sure you tell the security guard there your position on Belicheck, I'm sure you can have an intelligent conversation with him....and don't forget to visit the statues of Brady and Belicheck before you leave.....
