08:05 AM ET 08.25 | Plaxico Burress didn't really see the Giants in his future. His meeting with ownership and team officials was just a long kiss goodbye, a nostalgic sit-down with familiar people. Never mind that the Jets offered more guaranteed money or others involved were under the impression they were negotiating a contract, Burress said Wednesday his goal was "closure." He laughed with Jerry Reese, John Mara and his good buddy, Steve Tisch. He enjoyed a photo of himself on the wall of the Giants' offices. Then he signed with the Jets. [Barring injury], Burress will line up against his former team in Saturday night's preseason game, the second consecutive week the Jets receiver will take center stage. "Personally, I think I just needed a fresh start," Burress said.
