08:50 AM ET 08.27 | Frank Gore's frustration has grown to the point that those around him say they've never seen the 49ers' running back as frustrated as he's been over the past couple weeks. One team source said Gore has uncharacteristically "snapped" at some of the team's assistant coaches as his concern has grown over not receiving a contract extension. Gore is signed through the upcoming season at approximately $5 million.

"Gore is not pleased he has played more in the exhibition season than in previous years, which puts him more at risk for injury while he awaits a new contract, the source said."

This guy is letting Drew Rosenhaus affect his attitude. SHUT UP AND PLAY!!

Crybaby.

It's outrageous that you're only scheduled to make, like, 4.4 million more (this year) than, Chris Johnson.

You should totally sit-out, Frank...

I know how mad I would be playing a kids game for only 5 M. And if I played good of course they'd sign me again. What a child.

August 27, 2011  11:12 AM ET

Someone is grumpy, maybe he lost his Binky, ...shut up and play for 5 Million, then become a FA and see what you are worth.

August 27, 2011  11:21 AM ET

The dude is 28. Yeah, that's getting up there in running-back years, but he's still got gas in the tank. He's had some injuries through his career.

Shut up and play. Be a factor. Maybe next year you can sign for big money with a real team.

August 27, 2011  11:21 AM ET

I'd be pissed to if I were only making just over $300,000 per Sunday afternoon.

No Class...

You people need to get your head examined.
1. It's not how much he's getting paid compared to YOU. It's how much he's getting paid compared to others with similar skills and contributions.
2. Do you numbskulls pay attention to the off-season news? Like, there's a good chance playing this came will reduce his life expectancy by as much as decades? Don't see anything wrong for NFL players to fight for every dime regardless of how many dimes they already have.
3. And don't give any "honor your contract BS." NFL teams don't "honor the contract" - they cut the player and cancel the contract the instant it's in their interest.

He is getting a lot compared to others if you keep into account that he gets injured every 2 games.
Nobody is putting a gun to his head so he "reduces his life expectancy", if he was so concerned about that he'd be doing something else don't you think?
Nobody is telling him to honor his contract, we are saying he should shut up and play.

God I hate when imbeciles like you make accounts just to spew your idiocy

!. 5 Million/year is pretty close to the going rate for his skill level..CJ is scheduled to make 800,000 k this year

2. Every job has it s risks associated with it, accepting it is part of the reason for the outrageous salaries they earn

3. can't argue with you on this point

Yeah, when there's a thread about a free agent shopping his skills, we ask if he's in it for the money or he's in it for a chance at a ring. In SF, the ring option is out, so I suppose all he's got left to go for is the money.
