Miami players serene amidst eligibility questions

11:40 AM ET 08.28 | "Do I expect to play," Miami quarterback Jacory Harris said. "Yeah." Harris was asked various questions about the NCAA case and UM booster and convicted felon Nevin Shapiro, from whom he allegedly received impermissible benefits. He refused to answer, saying it was part of the investigation. But he did say he was happy, "probably the happiest I've ever been -- even with everything that's going on. I just see the brighter side of things. I see a future where there's going to be a lot of success. That's why I'm not even worried about what's going to happen -- if anything happens. Just leave it in God's hands. Whatever happens, happens. I just got to deal with it, fight through it." Linebacker Sean Spence, who also is ineligible, was equally upbeat and friendly Saturday. When asked about his mental approach with the upcoming season and ongoing NCAA investigation, he said he was preparing the same way as always. Defensive tackle Marcus Forston, who graduated from Miami Northwestern High with Harris and Spence, is another Cane who allegedly violated NCAA rules, according to Shapiro in a Yahoo! Sports report. He, too, sat on the bleachers in the Knight complex, smiling and serene.

Totally agree. No other schools in the last couple of years seems to have gived a damn what the NCAA said or did. Might as well play them, and then give the wins back later.

LOL.
So true -- why sit them now? It's not like the NCAA is going to pay any attention to that token gesture anyway.

"token gesture" put your school in the same scenario and they would do the same thing.

Your team is on probation and circling the drain. Live with that stuff. Nobody worries about USC anymore, because they're nothing to worry about.

LOL!!! This is going to be a "hurricane" bigger than Irene b4 all said
and done. The U's president better contact the Wal-Mart to reserve
some moving boxes for her before the bowl games kick off. Keeping
it real.

Question in my mind is whether A&M is such a big loss long term. In football, anyway, the record is not that impressive. They were on the verge of firing Sherman; then, after a 3-3 record, they changed quarterbacks and had a good season. But going back a bit, there really is not a lot to say that is positive about the football program at Texas A&M. Losing a team from your conference is consequential, and that is why the departure of Texas A&M is hardly irrelevant. But I don't think it takes too much heavy lifting to find a replacement.

Hmmm... Seem's like Florida St. has been the team circling the drain the last 10 years. The ACC is the worst conference in college football and Florida St. has won exactly 1 conference title in 10 years. FSU is the most irrelevant program that everybody still talks about every offseason like they're going to do something. Unfortunately for you, despite what the experts think, the season starts in a week and you can go back in the hole Florida St. calls home through the fall and winter and get ready for 2012.
As for USC, their worse season was last year and still finished with a better record than 80% of ot the teams in Division I-A. I'll take that kind of irrelevance over Florida St.'s any day.

I'm not mad, I'm vindicated. And I forgot to tell that blond imbecile, whatever his name is, the same thing, that left USC after his junior to transrfer to the dirtiest program in CFB so he could go to a bowl game, I guess. Well if bad press is better than no press, he got the school he surely deserved. Very relevant... in the discussion of corrupt programs.

Hey, Sandy, since your "goodbye" suggests you will not return to the UNC thread this is for you (I even quoted your post from over there):
You really are an idiot and not just a troll, aren't you? The ACC went to divisions in 2005, meaning that 60% of the "FSU played North Carolina" years you list do not matter for future games (and that easier path to the CCG you mentioned). Since the divisional split in 2005, FSU has only played UNC twice, 2009 and 2010.
So, since the divisional split:
DID NOT PLAY: 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and will not in 2011, 2012, 2013
PLAYED: 2009, 2010.
WILL NOT PLAY AGAIN UNTIL: 2014.
That is two games in the first nine years of the divisional structure. Yes, that is "most years" in fuzzy Sandy math. Lay off the insults and I will. Keep trying and I will make you look stupid every time.
