Wisconsin embracing national hype

08:13 AM ET 09.01 | Some pollsters have Wisconsin among their top five, and the Badgers are embracing the expectations. Bret Bielema, whose college football resume includes more than two decades as either a player or a coach, can't remember this much hype heading into a season. The University of Wisconsin football coach isn't hiding from it, either. In fact, he's embracing it with open arms. "It's fun," he said this week. "I think it's a sign of respect." As the Badgers open the 2011 season Thursday night against UNLV at Camp Randall Stadium, it's fair to wonder if this is the start of something big. ... There hasn't been this much buzz surrounding the UW program since 2000.

Praise be this thread. Given that its opening day its good to see one out of 5 topics is about an actual game this week (in part at least).

That being said, Ole Miss didn't light the world on fire in a similar situation last year.

It will be Wisky or COC for the title there IMO.

Yep-If Wilson plays as well as he did with NC State they could be playing for the BCS title in New Orleans.

What does it say about the mighty B1G if the new guy on the block wins the conference?

What will it mean? Nothin' because Nebraska won't win the BigTen+2 this year.

And no I don't think Ohio State will win it either.

I would love to see any team from the B1G playing for a NC!

Badger RBs game song:

Wisky O-Line, make a hole!
Don't let DTs lay a hand on me!
Wisky O-Line make a hole!
Take out the LB, set me free!
