08:00 AM ET 09.02 | Will there be a thaw in the Carson Palmer-Bengals standoff? The Bengals met with [Palmer] immediately before training camp began, and reached out to his representatives again last week, sources confirmed to The Enquirer. ESPN reported Thursday that Palmer met with Brown at Paul Brown Stadium. A league source told The Enquirer the meeting took place during the week of July 25, when the lockout ended, but before the team reported to camp at Georgetown College on July 29. The Bengals made another call to Palmer's representatives last week, according to league sources, before they released Palmer's younger brother, Jordan. Whether any of the overtures would resolve the situation was unclear.

This is the dumbest thing I have ever seen... trade the guy... he doesnt want to be part of your team... why would you ever want him back? ... who knows what San Fran would give up to grab him now? ... it woul dbe alot more than just letting him rot...

Yeah - I saw that.

There are still teams out there desperately seeking quarterbacks. Maybe Mike Brown is just getting around to his voice mail, and realized that he's got a valuable trade item.

Unfortunately, one team that should be desperately seeking a quarterback is the Bingos.

Mike Brown is a moron. He's rather let Palmer rot than trade him & get something for him.

Miami would sell their soul for Palmer. Hope that point you're making is worth it, Mike.

Because the Bengals suck, what's to stop half of his team from doing the same thing next year?

Unlike Palmer, they need the money. Also unlike Palmer, there's no market for the rest of the team.

When the NFL donates clothing to Africa, Somali kids won't even wear Bengals jerseys.

Or, as they call it in Africa...camouflage.

Guess that was meant to be a slap in the face or something. Trade the guy already.....

Thank you, but my cue-tip budget has gone through the roof.

Maybe the management of NFL teams should take the wunderlic test. Brown would set an all-time low and make Vince Young look like Einstein.

I really hope Palmer calls Mike Browns bluff and shows up like say this weekend. What then? Do they start Palmer with no reps in a new offense? Or do they just cut him? Or do they pay him 11 million to sit on the bench? It sure would be interesting.
