08:04 AM ET 09.02 | Only a year ago, Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Williams was a fourth-round selection who some believed had commitment issues. How's this for commitment issues: In his second season, Williams is promising the playoffs. "We're a young team, but we're guaranteeing the playoffs," said Williams, who was one of the league's best rookies, leading his class with 65 catches for 964 yards and 11 touchdowns. The Bucs have reason to be optimistic, even if they are only two years removed from an awful 3-13 season. After two solid drafts, they've assembled a promising group with a young coach and a young quarterback who is steamrolling toward elite status.

They have a good chance to be a wild card team. There aren't that many good teams in the NFC.

Playoffs? Don't talk about .... playoffs!
Playoffs?
New Orleans or Atlanta will win the NFC South, and the other one will be a wild card. Detroit or Chicago will be the other wild card. That's my fuzzy prediction. Williams is entitled to his, but didn't Ochocinco say the same thing about the Bengals last year?

That would be Serena Williams, because Venus is sidelined right now.
Damn, wouldn't they be beasts in the LFL?

Nope...don't see it happening. They are not going to beat out Atlanta or New Orleans for the Division- not happening. And with the depth in the NFC East and North they are competing for a WIld Card with some teams they can't keep up with- Bears, Dallas, NYG...maybe even dare I say it Detroit ?!

You can be sure there won't be a wild card coming out of the NFC East or West, so that makes the possibilities a lot better for teams in the North and South.

So your saying your the Giants and Cowboys neither are making the playoffs? Have a hard time believing the NFC East doesn't end up with two teams in the playoffs- too much talent in that division.

What does "guarantee" mean to pro athletes, anyway? If they don't make the playoffs does he give back his salary? Do the fans get a refund on their tickets? Anyone can claim to "guarantee" anything, but its not really a guarantee if there's nothing to back it up.

Happened last year, didn't it?

That's not the way they ended up last year, and the only team in the NFC East that's really improved is the Eagles.

Bucs open the season against the Lions. It's a big game with playoff implications.
No seriously...It is.

I don't see where those 2 teams improved at all, other than from a coaching standpoint in Dallas, but the players are the same and the secondary still sucks. So yeah...Philly is it in the East.

It may not be a "big" game, but it will be interesting to see how well Detroit does in a real game.
