08:24 AM ET 09.02 | Stephen Garcia's streak is over. South Carolina head football coach Steve Spurrier announced that sophomore quarterback Connor Shaw will start in the team's season opener against East Carolina on Saturday at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. [Garcia], who has been suspended five times during his career for off-the-field incidents, had made 28 consecutive starts at quarterback dating back to 2008. ... [Said Spurrier:] "We've gone through preseason, so it's over. The guy who rated the best was Connor Shaw. He played better than Stephen Garcia. Simple as that. So he's going to start the game. He's going to play the first quarter and Stephen is going to play the second quarter. And we're going to see what happens after that."

Wasn't that a load of bull last night.

Too bad the Cuse vs WF game was not on where I was. It was the only decent game. Hope TCU vs Baylor is closer than it was last year.

QUOTE(#7):

Last night watching Kentucky shows me why I only watch them in BB, they sucked badly, the other team was no better either.

It's damn hard to dribble that football 0-6. Give 'em a little time. They'll get it under control.

What a tough down year it'll be for college football this season. With a depleted Ohio State what is the point in even watching???

That's exactly the reason to watch. Cue all the bucknut homers.
