08:57 AM ET 09.03 | Erring on the side of extreme caution, Alex Rodriguez sat out for a sixth consecutive game, missing the opener of a three-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium with a sprained left thumb. He took a full batting practice and fielded ground balls today, intensifying his workload from the previous day, and expects to return to the lineup Saturday afternoon.

I have to wonder also... 36 years old, former PED user, possibly a chronic hip condition..... Maybe we've seen the best of A-Rod.

And only 5 or 6 more years to go on that contract, too
