08:11 AM ET 09.04 | Not only have a couple hundred premium seat holders stiffed the Dolphins on 2011 payments, but season ticket sales are in the low 40,000s, the worst in 28 years. The team hopes to end up around 45,000, way down from 61,000 in 2006 and 51,000 last year.

Find a quarterback who can help win games and then those ticket sales will improve. In the meantime, who wants to see what they're selling? I don't blame the people of Miami for not wanting to buy.

It seems the dolphins management is treating the team the same way as the marlins, put an inferior product on the field and the fans will still show up.WAKE UP !the marlins had under a thousand people in the stands last week, you're moving in the wrong direction !And really a PEP rally downtown!will tim tebow be there ?

It's too bad, they were making some strides a few years ago.

I wonder why?

September 4, 2011  09:46 AM ET

It was more like under 500 people in the stands. The Fins will continue to have this problem if they don't start winning. They should put in a bid to get out of the AFC.

Sounds like blacked out games are in the offing for South Beach.

Oh well - at least they won't go 1-15....

They just need to cover up seats like they do in Jax. No blackouts.
Or turn everything into luxury boxes, they don't count either.

Does not matter. They get 40% of away games ticket sales and guaranteed tv revenue. And any corporate seating that is sold at home is not shared.

The owners just got an EXTRA BILLION to share among themselves. They should make more than they did last year. Jeesh!

I know people that actually flew up to South Bend from Texas to watch that...

Would have been better to stay far, far away.

Says alot about the Dolphins, I believe it says they are "SMART".

Maybe they should just move the games to the Miami-Dade County Fairgrounds. If "Tiffany" can fill it...the Dolphins should be okay, right?

And go to the NFC...who has won 3, of the last 4, Super Bowls? There is nowhere for them to run.

That first drive looked so good, and then that damned fumble. After that, there were so many absolutely stupid, mindless errors. There was no excuse for their red zone mistakes. I hope Kelly runs them until they vomit all this week.

Yup. What a disappointing first game. They totally weren't ready.
