These Raiders have only two quarterbacks, after cutting Trent Edwards on Saturday. Jason Campbell is the unquestioned starter, with the ghost of Bruce Gradkowski far away in Cincinnati. And Kyle Boller, who went to Cal, is No. 2 after beating out the recently signed Edwards, who didn't get a good enough grasp of the offense quickly enough. Rookie Terrelle Pryor can't be No. 3 until he serves a five-game league suspension. Who is the emergency No. 3 quarterback? Glad you asked. Have you met Shane Lechler? The six-time Pro Bowl punter was a quarterback in high school in Texas and regularly shows off his arm in defensive back drills.

tom matte was a halfback. he played qB in the playoff game in the mid sixties. vs dallas, and won. meaningless game really, used to have a consolation game in the NFL.
FYI, that was the cowboys first playoff appearance.

George Blanda, ex of Raiders, Oilers and other franchises. both kicked and played QB. Dan Pastorini, another ex-Oiler, started at QB and punter. In AFL days, Gino Cappeletti was the PK and flanker for the Boston Patriots. Would win the league 'scoring title" with FGs, PATs and a handful of TDs.

Tom Tupa was the punter and third quarterback for the Jets and other teams before them. At one point, he won the Punt, Pass and Kick competition, and he's got a ring from Tampa Bay's Superbowl year.
And when I Googled "Tom Tupa," the second entry was "25% off Tuba lessons."

I believe that rule was eradicated under the new CBA.
But Al Davis likes to live in the past. So he probably thinks it still exists.
