"The last thing I thought about was next year," Quade said. ... Marmol has blown a league-high nine save opportunities, and has the second-worst saves percentage (.775). In the last few weeks, he has served up two ninth-inning grand slams, on Aug. 16 at Houston and Saturday against the Pirates. "These things have crept up on him more this year than the past, so he's going to have to try to figure things out and make better pitches," Quade said.

That what happens when you have a high K/9. Hitters know you throw strikes, so they plan to swing early. Marmol has always seemed sporadic, I'm not surprised he blows some saves here & there.

the rangers run over the red sox, could it be that the red sox are getting a little tired? or they just being relaxin and getting ready for a playoff run? this sox better start playing some serious and hard baseball if they really want to be in the playoffs then its time to prove everybody wrong, unless they would like to face the rangers and get hammer by this club again!!!

You really have to appreciate a manager that rewards failure by keeping on trying the same thing over and over again. I think he learned that from watching Piniella batting Soriano leadoff for so long.
