08:06 AM ET 09.07 | Depending on how strictly one adheres to a depth chart, we can expect to see DeSean Jackson returning kicks. Take it for what it's worth, but the depth chart on the Eagles Web site has [Jackson] as their top punt returner and Jeremy Maclin as his backup. The philadelphiaeagles.com depth chart is a far cry from the final word on personnel decisions, but with few options after the Eagles released a number of preseason candidates, Jackson will likely be returning punts in Sunday's opener. ... A few weeks back the wide receiver told The Inquirer that he was still up for the job. There was some speculation that Jackson would balk at returning punts if he didn't have a contract extension by the start of the season.

As predicted, the foolish decision by the No Fun League to move the kickoff line up 5 yards to increase the number of exciting touchbacks is already having an impact on roster decisions concerning return guys. Their value has dropped to the point that teams like the Iggles have downgraded the position, and now they won't even carry a return specialist.

Good effin' going, Roger. Stupid turd. 8 straight minutes of commercials after every touchdown or field goal, interrupted only by a ceremonial kick into the end zone. Whoopee.
