Time running out for Coyotes prospect

08:27 AM ET 09.07 | Viktor Tikhonov's timing seems always to have been a bit off since being drafted No. 28 overall in 2008. He played with his former team in the KHL for part of 2009-10 and logged 82 games with the San Antonio Rampage during the past three seasons. And just when he was on the brink of being recalled by the Coyotes last season, he shattered a finger while blocking a shot. ... When training camp opens Sept. 16, Tikhonov will be getting what he looks at as a make-or-break chance. "Absolutely," said Tikhonov, who is skating with several other players this week at informal sessions. "Especially for me, you don't know how long you're going to be a prospect, so this could be the last chance right here."

The fact that we have a story about a Coyote player instead of the usual team-will-move-or-won't-move thread surprises me even more than what the x-ray of a shattered finger might look like.

Hope he is completely recovered. Be different, and enjoyable, to see threads about the team, players, performance..........rather than the lease.

Amen to that.
Still its only been three years and he did have that injury. It is probably more a case of him losing a substantial amount of money if he doesn't kick it in gear now.

...Love the travelling. Hate the flying - not that I'm afraid of flying - I just don't like to be told to grab my ankles in the name of national security. It's gotten out of hand.

LMAO. I fly every week and I'd be afraid of those folks who like to grab their ankles!
Seriously, it is annoying to fly a lot these days. A lot of what is being done is to win the last war. I don't mind most of the stuff, but I do think 'political correctness' makes a lot of the stuff going on more encroaching than it needs to be. I also think the Israeli methods of speaking to passengers and detecting anomalies is a good step too. Oh well..........security steps are here to stay I'm afraid. At least for the rest of my life.

I don't mind "security". If the population at large believes security is required then it should be effectively addressed.
I simply dislike it when a person 1/2 my age, with 1/3 the schooling and 1/4 my IQ (who's conventiently toting a Glock) forgets their place, and treats me with discourtesy. I loathe discourtesy.
To quote The Duke: "I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to other people and I expect the same from them."

I agree of course. But I fear it won't change, or even get noticeably better, for a long time, if ever.

Used to fly for work all the time back in the 90's. All sorts of planes going and coming from all sorts of airports. Loved every second of it. Even the dicey times were interesting. Glad I don't do that now. Not that the extra security would bother me, but the airlines idea of customer service is laughable these days.
