Jordan Hamilton: I could lead rookies in scoring

08:15 AM ET 09.07 | A recent interview revealed Jordan Hamilton to be a confident young man heading into his first NBA season, whenever it begins. Q: Your offensive game is well known, but what can you bring to the table on the defensive end? JH: I think it's effort. Once I show teams that I can bring that effort every night on both sides of the court I think they'll look at me as an all-around player rather than just some scorer. Like I said, effort and play hard every night. ... Q: Apart from you, who can be a great offensive player among rookies next season? JH: I don't know. I think I can bring some scoring in, and as a rookie I think there's the possibility I can be the leading scorer next season among rookies. I think I've got enough confidence (to do it).

Never watched this kid play. NBADraft.net describes him as a wing player. Which I suppose embodies the SF / SG positions. Meaning he'll be battling Harington, Afflalo & JR Smitth? Not the most uphill battle he could be in so he'll probably get the minutes to go for the scoring title amongst rookies...

But can you play D, Bro?

September 7, 2011  09:38 AM ET

In what ... the Rucker League?

September 7, 2011  09:39 AM ET

First we have to have a season. Minor point.

I like the bravado but I'm not so sure about this guy. He may be one of those guys whose game doesn't translate to the next level.

No!

I think this is just an indication of how weak this draft really was. I never heard of him. There are millions of stories about college 'greats' that couldn't make the transition to the next level. Somebody wake me up when he does something. Everybody's an ALL-Star in September.

And can the interns atleast get his picture up? We've all seen and know what Coack Karl looks like by now!

You mean like

I will do what is best for the team
I have to get my teammates involved as wel

ETC

They are slowly becoming cliche...or have we already arrived at that point?

could and will are two different things my man...you won't get that much playing time here to be able to do that...especially if your D stinks

I think its funny that "I Love LA" guy says "bro" after every post...

You could also have added "We just need to stay aggressive..." among a few others.

The advocate reporter would respond with ...How?

This kid does have some serious talent but I hope his shot selection improves in the NBA
