Perhaps that is why the Green Bay Packers want nothing to do with the preseason chatter that they are poised to become the next NFL dynasty. A warning was issued by a Packers staffer, in advance, that general manager Ted Thompson would not want to talk about dynasties. He recoils at that word. It's not appropriate, Thompson said. Dynasties are built over time, after multiple championships in a row, perhaps six. He did not laugh when he said that. ... He says the Packers Way is to keep your head down, your mouth shut and your eyes wide open. He says the word "dynasty" means nothing to him. "There's a reason why there are not a whole lot of repeats in this thing," he said.

Agreed. And Thompson never said the Pack was capable of a six-peat... he just thinks that's what a dynasty should be considered. He's probably sick of being asked if the Pack would be considered a dynasty if they win it all again this season. The media has to have something to drone on and on about.

We all get his point, but still dumb to say six in a row is the definition of a dynasty. I suppose he is saying there has never been a dynasty in the NFL.
As good as the Packers are, a lot of things fell in to place for them last year. They did not win their division and only made the playoffs because the Giants imploded.

This is true. Skins beat them last season. But didn't the same "things" fall in place for the Gints to win the SB a few years ago? Lots of pairity in the league is all. Can't knock the ring.

If at least 3 SB's in 10 years counts as a dynasty, the Pack is in best position to do that. But what if Steelers win it this year? That would be 3 in a 10 year period, as well as being in another SB?

Yeah, but to their credit, they are doing something about it - one child per couple. Meanwhile, the rest of the "underdeveloped" world breeds like bunnies and expects to sneak across the border into the US or Europe, or do tech support in India.
