Coaches do yell, but when they start yelling constantly about EVERYTHING, it's natural for players to start tuning them out. Hint, if a coach constantly finds themselves yelling, they may need to look in the mirror and make some adjustments in how they are communicating with the team.

I think their tears would be better spent on the fact that New England is coming to town...

However, this really is a good point. Being a great (or even good) head coach absolutely requires a mastery over manipulation. Which means different tact's, for different personality types.

If you're just the dude, who likes to yell @ everybody, all of the time...nobody is listening.

Not that it much matters, in Miami, this year. Look at it this way, Phinny's...at least JLo hasn't started yelling, yet.
