08:43 AM ET 09.11 | The Marlins haven't ruled out trading a player (certainly not a key one) for top managerial choice Ozzie Guillen, but prefer not to, and will wait until his availability is known before moving on to anyone else.

Ozzie is a nut, much overrated IMHO

True, but it would be funny to read his comments after sending that Marlins lineup out there for a year.

With that owner who fired Joe G how long will Ozzie really last as manager there? Henley R won't last too long playing for Ozzie

A swap for old man Jack McKeon would do.

If Kenny Williams has the final say (which he doesn't), he'd take the proverbial bucket of balls for Ozzie.

Ozzie may be goofy and give great, infuriating sound-bites, but (along with Kenny) he's kept the ChiSox competitive and -- unlike some of the more boring (but popular managers), he's actually won a World Series. Plus, he'd be a great fit in South Florida. Bring it on!

Right on...as crazy as he is, he knows baseball and how to manage. And, everyone on South Florida could probably understand what he is saying, unlike 90% of us

Ozzie's act has grown tiresome. Here's hoping he never gets another MLB job.

September 11, 2011  04:42 PM ET

There was talk earlier about trading Mike Stanton for Ozzie (I still don't understand how player-manager trades are possible) .. I wouldn't rule it out with the Marlins front office ineptitude. They're idiots down there in Miami who have no idea how to run a franchise.

I would hate to see him go, but seeing as i think it's inevitable i would gladly take a player from the Marlins in exchange. I'm really hoping for Ozzie to be back though , and Kenny to be "promoted" or fired and replaced by Rick Hahn.

If Ozzie thought he got pissed off a lot before, just wait for the FLA version of Ozzie!

Ozzie, Sampson and Lauria what a combination! That ought to sell a lot of tickets in their new stadium. One little problem there's not a lot of talent on that team; plus there are a lot of head cases there . Should be great theater. Hanley and Ozzie cursing one another out in front of 15,000 fans.

Naw, hell no.This is a team that's won a couple of WS titles in the past 15 years and they never have a big budget to work with. The Marlins owner may be cheap, but their front office guys are smart. They'd never give up Stanton for a manager.

They had the dynamic duo of Dombrowski & Leyland !! chuckle chuckle

They did....although that duo did something in FLA they won't be able to duplicate in MI !!

Why trade anything for him? He's going to get axed soon enough. Either Ozzie or Williams is a goner at the end of the season. I think it will be Ozzie.
