Rangers' Bradley ready by opener
Rangers outfielder Milton Bradley said he'll be ready "to play in some capacity" by opening day. The 29-year-old passed a physical Tuesday, making his one-year, $5 million contract official. But Bradley, a switch-hitter, is recovering from off-season surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. The injury occurred while Bradley was restrained as he argued with an umpire on Sept. 23.

Players who can average 30 homers a year and 90 rbi's won't go away until they have to.
The problem with Bradley has been his attitude, and the Rangers have taken a chance on guys like him before and not had the clubhouse problems those players exhibited for their past teams. Carl Everett and John Rocker both behaved themselves during their short stints with the Rangers.
As a Rangers fan, I'm ready to give him a chance. It's only a one year deal, and if he peforms to his ability, keeps his tempter in check, and doesn't get injured again (three big if's) then he would be welcome by me to sign a longer term contract. He does have something to prove this year. Hopefully, Washington can help him with his character issues.

I hope he is ready for the first A's game. It is always fun going to Oakland to whip up on their fans and players. With luck, Bradley, Padilla and Francisco will be there to participate in the fun.

He kept his head pretty well in San Diego last season, until Mike Winters (AKA Captain Sunshine, I suspect) stepped over the line. DH will probably work out well for him. Misterbig, if he were on 'roids, he would have a lot less time on the DL.

Bradley gets on base pretty well, doesn't strike out very much and has a decent walk rate, can play a solid outfield (which he won't be asked to play too often, he'll get to DH about 30 games this year, so he hopefully can stay healthy (enough atleast) to play 135 total (I understand that would be his second most in his career) and serve his purpose...if Wash can keep him in line, which I think he can do, it won't be a bad pick up...it's his health not his attitude I'm worried about.
