Jackson wants a smarter team

08:04 AM ET 09.14 | Being tough is one thing, but flouting fundamentals in the process is quite another. The Raiders were the bullies coach Hue Jackson wanted them to be Monday night at Denver. But the coach would like his players to be smarter bullies. If the Raiders had something to frown about after beating Denver 23-20 in their season opener, it was their 15 penalties, the most by any team in Week 1. Oakland led the NFL last season with 148 penalties. Jackson looks forward to the day when penalties aren't a big part of the Raiders' identity. "When we get really good, we're not going to talk about penalties in this room," Jackson said Tuesday. "Fifteen penalties will not be the issue. We need to play better."

Don't know. Google something like "Golf I can't see the ball". Nice though, huh?

Seems that you could find smarter players in College...the NFL should see about getting some sort of system set up to try and get players trained in college so they can get the best and brightest. I think that would be the way to go.

30-60 yards of Denvers Offense was due to Personal Fouls, etc on the Raiders. Reduce that, and that 23-20 becomes 23-13/17. This should have been a blowout for the Raiders but they always have a habit of letting the teams back up.

Raiders still need to work on their Special Team's play. Was a huge Achilles heel last year and after that punt return for TD, seems like its still present. They're 9-0 for AFC West teams now though. Let's see how they do against the Bills this coming Sunday.

"Jackson wants a smarter team" ... you mean, instead of wanting a DUMBER team? How's about finding a SMARTER title for a post, FN interns?
