Did the Twins sell out Mauer?

08:10 AM ET 09.14 | For many fans, three home runs don't quite add up for eight yeas and $184 million. Teammate and close friend Justin Morneau said he thinks [Joe Mauer's] story would be playing out differently if the public fully understood the facts. The narrative became muddled, Morneau believes, when the Twins diagnosed Mauer with bilateral leg weakness on April 14. ... "Joe's not one to make excuses," Morneau said. "The reality is, he tried to come back too soon from knee surgery. Could [the Twins] have helped him out if they said he never built back his strength, instead of calling it bilateral leg weakness? I think it would have been a lot different if they said, he tried to come back too soon so he could help our team win."

I think it's still a bit premature to make that call.

They need to try the traditional Minnesota knee treatment...pack it with lutefisk, wrap it in lefse, and bury him in a birch bog until spring. If it doesn't get better, boil him along with the lutefisk and serve him with butter and the lefse after church on Easter.

Ahhhh - the sweet smell of Scandinavian fish rot.....

Lutefisk recipe;
1. Take a nice piece of cod and soak it in lye
2. Bury it in a compost heap
3. Let it sit for 4 months
4. Dig up the cod
5. Throw away the cod
6. Eat the compost heap

Guess we didn't push the sarcasm button hard enough....

Guess not. :P

There are a lot of Mauer haters around here, so it's hard to weed the hate from the sarcasm at times.

I think after he has this offseason to get caught back up with his health that he'll be at least close to the Mauer we've seen in the past.

But boy, have the Twins' mighty Bash Brothers fallen hard or what?

Funny, here in Florida we call that the recipe for mudfish.
