08:25 AM ET 09.14 | Based solely on draft class, Drew Doughty, Zach Bogosian and Luke Schenn -- the second, third and fifth overall draft picks from 2008 -- are in the same class, though Bogosian doesn't see it quite that way. "I'm in a little bit of a different boat than them," Bogosian said after an informal skate with Jets teammates, Tuesday. "Obviously Doughty has had a couple of good years. I haven't exactly had the greatest start to my career... but I'm still young and up to learning new things and looking forward to good things here in Winnipeg." ... The 21-year-old hopes the scrutiny lifts his play to another level. "I put pressure on myself, but anytime you play in a hockey market obviously the stakes are a little higher."

Trust me Zach, the players will love playing in a packed house 41 times a year...

yeah...playing in a place where hockey matters is a big lift I would think

September 14, 2011  09:10 AM ET

that's kind of refreshing - in effect lowering his negotiating point from Doughty's.

And I agree playing to full houses will be a change for the former ATL lifers.

Even before signing, Bogosian feeling heat

He'd better enjoy the heat coz Winnipeg is nasty cold in the winter.

September 14, 2011  09:58 AM ET

Ummm...Tell that to the Leafs' players.

I'm sure there's been many a presser (or frontpage Sun headline) when they silently wished they had ended up in Sunrise or Glendale. LOL!!!

Refreshing. That's a good word for a player in Winnipeg. Refreshing. Yep. I like it.

Is this a slight dig that LA is not a hockey market? ;-)

September 14, 2011  11:11 AM ET

With the kind of money and security Doughty just turned down i would not want to be considered in his class either

the flipside is that they don't get to drive around in drop-tops in the middle of january anymore.

I thought exactly the same thing when I read the last sentence - "I put pressure on myself, but anytime you play in a hockey market obviously the stakes are a little higher."

If only the commish could read between the lines.
