08:16 AM ET 09.15 | Twins outfielder Denard Span, who is recovering from a June concussion, spoke Wednesday about possibly returning to the lineup as soon as Friday. But Span also acknowledged he worries about his long-term ability to play baseball the way he did before colliding with Kansas City catcher Brayan Pena on June 3. Since then, Span has played just 10 games, batting .051 (2 for 39). Asked if he has any doubt he'll be healthy next season, he said, "A little bit, honestly." ... "When you don't play, you start thinking about things, like: 'You know what? What if I never return back to the same level I played at before I got hurt?' You start thinking about stuff like that. "So there is a little doubt in my mind."

What is it with the Twins and concussions? They need to get the Vikings' training staff on board.

They're not really concussions, just brain damage caused by smelling lutefisk. The Vikings avoid it by packing the players' noses with lefse.

I'ma agree with you. If Morneau cant turn it around after a little knee to the head 15 months ago, Span's not getting over this when he keeps thinking abut it. Oh well, Revere isnt a bad replacement.

He'd better not be a free agent talking like that ...

His 2009 numbers (AVG, OBP, & SLG) dropped a lot during the 2010 season. So he started playing is way out of the league long before getting hurt. Too bad because he seems like a decent guy.
