Heaps giving critics lots of ammunition

08:18 AM ET 09.16 | Jake Heaps has again emboldened his doubters. [Heaps] seemingly answered the critics the second half of last season, leading BYU to a 5-1 record the last six games, marred only by that razor-close 17-16 loss to Utah, a game in which he also played reasonably well. Well, the critics are back. As the Cougars prepare to take on Utah once again ... the sophomore finds himself under fire once more after having struggled in BYU's first two games against Ole Miss and Texas, respectively. Here we go again. Sure, Heaps looked like an All-American against the likes of UTEP, New Mexico, UNLV and Colorado State, his detractors say. But when he faces legitimate defenses from BCS schools, he doesn't get it done.

I hope BYU averages 4 wins a season now that they left the MWC...
At least TCU and Utah left for bigger conferences-BYU just reacted to Utah leaving. Besides they were the worst fanbase in the MWC, good to see them turning on a decent QB.

No matter the conference, BYU has always received the most hate from opposing teams. The old WAC, MWC, independent, it doesn't matter.

That's good right there. Well played Guido.

Guido, that is funny, but you guys need to quit naming these teams, gets a little confusing after awhile, for OT that is. LOL

They actually have a good fanbase. Have a national appeal through religious affiliations.
Travel very well; reminds me of ND back in the day.

I enjoy their fans. Can have good CFB conversations with most without it getting ugly. Actually bought BBQ for a family that came down to watch the game last week.

But, I'll refrain from using nicknames to help an old guy out. Hope its a comfortable weekend for ya.

Morning! I bet you were all waiting for me to show up.

Heaps seems to be on his "A" game until the D makes adjustments. Then he gets flustered, his passes are behind intended receivers.

There are concerns . . .
