Artest spreading himself too thin?

08:07 AM ET 09.16 | With one tweet, Ron Artest opened himself to criticism. "One media guy said you doing too much tv," Artest tweeted Wednesday evening. "He wants me to focus on ball everyday. Seven days a week! What's a good amount of time to focus on basketball for Ron artest in the summer. Is there a set schedule that I am missing?" ... But should Artest struggle next season, little of it will point to distractions and most of it will point to ability. His poor effort in the Lakers' Christmas Day game against Miami reflected more on his obsession with rattling LeBron James than on the time he spent overseeing his ring raffle. The rim stopping Artest on a fast-break dunk in the Lakers' Game 4 elimination loss to the Dallas Mavericks of the Western Conference semifinals had nothing to do with his Twitter binge. It had everything to do about his poor elevation.

Good luck Lakers.

F what the stupid sports analysts and dumb non fans above say, the guy came to LA to give the Lakers a physical presence and defense, and he has done both. Phil should have never forced him to be a spot up shooter, obviously not his game. Im just glad the Lakers didnt overpay him like the Sperms did with RJ.

Now we regret the huge contract we gave this bozo... hope he gets traded mid season for a young leg. I can't say I dislike any current Laker except this guy.

Artest already earned the value of his entire contract with that Game 7 vs the Celts. Besides, he is just the mid level exemption guy, like Walton. Who cares if the guys signed to the mid level exemtion contracts underperform? It doesn't affect your cap number at all, and you can just sit them. I am hopeful that Artest will be more comfortable in Brown's offense.
