10:59 AM ET 09.17 | There are times when some insight is required, at the price of anonymity, and such was the case over the past two days as the 3-Dot Lounge gathered opinions on Bill Neukom's ouster from the Giants. For source No. 1: Is this the end of the upheaval in the front office? "There's another move coming. They're giving Larry Baer the CEO responsibilities, but there has to be a chief liaison between the executive committee and management, so a managing general partner will be named. Literally a chairman of the board. It can't be Larry, because he answers to the board. You can't be church and state." How is this going down with Major League Baseball? "Bill Neukom did an amazing job, and I know this from the inside. The Giants were not well-regarded by MLB before he took over. Between enabling Barry Bonds (regarding steroids) and other indiscretions - like sidestepping MLB's ticket stipulations when the All-Star Game was here (2007) - the Giants were known as a team that behaved badly. Neukom changed all that. With his class and professionalism, he brought them right to the top of the class."

Bill Neukom was great for SF Giants baseball and now he's gone...

*He helped prove to other cash strapped cities in the U.S. that PRIVATELY FUNDED STADIUMS ARE POSSIBLE
*he helped protect the Giants territory in the South Bay from being poached by poorly run franchises (A's, 49ers)
*he helped build the first championship team this once proud area has seen in a long time...

Trina and Tori Burns of the SF Giants ownership committee have just shown loyal fans that money is more important to them than winning.
