11:06 AM ET 09.17 | Will UGA be able to flip the commitment of Miami LB recruit Raphael Kirby? The Bulldogs have a chance. The 6-foot, 210-pound linebacker from Stephenson High School will make an unofficial visit to UGA for Saturday's game against Coastal Carolina. Kirby made the decision to take the last-minute recruiting trip after talking with UGA recruiting coordinator Rodney Garner on Thursday night. "We had a long conversation and Coach Garner said he wanted me to come up for a visit soon; I told him that I'm not really doing anything this weekend, so I'm going on Saturday," Kirby told the AJC. "Georgia is one of the schools recruiting me the hardest. They let it be known that they are excited that I am coming to visit. And I'm excited to go on the visit and have a good time watching college football."

Well, he is only 210 lbs. I'd say he's flippable!!

I wonder who will be the coach at Georgia when they're trying to sign Raphael Kirby.
<Lightbulb>
I just thought of a very Smart choice that might have an edge in luring Kirby to Athens. Not telling who that might be, though.
(Hint-- you can find him in the midst of a sea of mullets.)

Commit? Guess I do not know what that word means. Maybe they should pre-commit?

September 17, 2011  12:58 PM ET

Verbal commitments are like pre-engagement rings. Don't mean a thing until they sign on the line in February. And even then some have changed, but it's a little bigger deal. Maybe they couldn't get the boosters at Miami to offer enough yacht rides and hookers.

When Miami wrote to him they told he that they would take him to Hooters and he misread it and thought it said hookers.

Only an idiot would go to Georgia now. Nobody knows who the coach will be a year from now. It might turn out to be someone who didn't like you too much. Go to Miami kid. Golden is gonna fix that thing. Quickly.

And Miami is attractive because its a current model of stability then?

September 18, 2011  11:07 AM ET

For the kid it probably doesn't matter, either school will get you plenty of looks from the NFL.

Why go to a school near the beach with hot women and an up and coming program when you can go to UGA where they have .... um .... yeah. Never mind.
