Can Pittman help Heat this season?

09:41 AM ET 09.18 | Though the Heat sees upside in second-year center Dexter Pittman, there are mixed views whether he can help this season. "Some feel he should be a key guy for us and some feel he's a year away," a Heat official said before the lockout. The team wishes he was a better rebounder (he's merely average) and shot-blocker. But "he has great hands and finishes well. He could be a very good defender."

I thought Pittman could have been a big help last year if they would have played him earlier, a shame he got injured. He may not fix all the heats problems, but he's young and would be a valuable asset going forward.

Sure he can help.But the heat have to win now...can he have a breakout season?Maybe...but I still say hope Nene or Dalembert joins.If not then Pittman will have to help them.Still rather Lebron and Pittman for Nene and Galo...But Riley won't do it.The heat with Wade and Lebron and no complete center deems them unbalanced, but a lineup of Chalmers,Wade,Galo,Bosh and Nene = a scary lineup!

Forget about it. Riley won't trade LeFlake, and Nene opted out of $11 million. There's not much chance he would sign for $6 or 7 million. Miami went "all in" on the big 3. They're going to have to deal with that decision.

Only if he can work out a deal between the owners and union ...

Nene told hoops hype it's not about the money and he can retire right now.That's how well he has saved his money, he wants a ring.His words not mine.Check it out for yourself.

LeQueen wants a ring too but as Mick once said;
You can't always get what you want!

Let's face it if they somehow manage to sign Nene then they defiantly will be the most hated team of any league in the history of sports. Hopefully the new CBA will address the collusion of the players.

They already are the most hated team. That being said, not too much the new CBA can do about player collusion if the players are willing to take less money. It can implement a hard cap, maybe even a franchise tag (i doubt that would happen) but they still won't have total control of the players. If player x wants to give up 10 million to pursue a ring, there really isn't too much they can do about it. It sucks, but it is what it is. If only player loyalty mattered half as much to them as it does the fans.
