WIll U.S. Solheim Cup team earn 'brats' label?

11:15 AM ET 09.18 | Poor form indeed. In 2002, European skipper Catrin Nilsmark felt obliged to label certain members of the American side "brats", which perhaps evened up the dreadful Pepper's remark that, were it not for the LPGA Tour, most of the opposing side would be "bagging groceries at the nearest supermarket". "You know how dogs don't like cats?" asks five-time European captain Mickey Walker by way of explanation. "Well, most European players take the most pleasure from beating Americans. Americans are not always good winners and they dominated the game for a long time. That added up to a lot of incentive for the underdogs. No European team of mine ever needed motivating." That will surely be the same next weekend, when Alison Nicholas' 12-strong squad attempts to win the trophy for the first time since 2003 at Killeen Castle just outside Dublin. Armed with a star-studded but yet vulnerable-looking side, US skipper Rosie Jones has everything to lose.

Tell me women can't be as nasty as men. They maybe can't drink as much as we do (well, I know of one...) but, I learned a long time ago from more than one war veteran that dames will cut each other off at the knees. What fun. Game on. Both sides have got points. Life is good. Where's my wine and Carlos Torano?

I hope Paula Creamer is there. When she pouts, my knees turn to jello.

And, I'd enoy a good slap in the face from Morgan Pressel.

In the face? Yeah, there too I suppose. And I'll take it from Anna Rawson, given the choice.

Creamer, Pressel, Rawson, Sandra Gal ... any will do. (Yeah, I know Gal's with the "enemy", but legs like that span borders.

On the topic of golf, this should be a lot of fun to watch. Thank goodness for Tivo, though. And I can't wait until the Solheim comes to Denver in '13.

Poor losers? Last time I checked, every time you euro trashers need help to solve your frig'n problems, you ask us to bail you out. We never lose, we only have a bad day! Better than a bad century...LOSER! NEXT!

Of course we won't mention that the U.S. bailed out the Euros during two world wars. We'll keep that little aspect quiet. Let the trashing begin Wisconsin burp trip.

Ireland, Spain, Portugal, France and the piece de resistance....................Greece? These folks make the US seem frugal and fiscally responsible. Apparently you're having millions of bad days.

Not quite any, Mozart. A lot, yes. Not any. And I have no problem with your selection of Gal. The other side has a few pretty ones too.

On what course will they play? And I don't watch anything live anymore except for the Super Bowl. For other sporting events, I'll set the TiVo to record then I'll start to watch from the very beginning around halfway through and FF all the commercials. Unless the show runs long (like yesterday's OT game between Dallas and San Francisco), I usually get to the end a few minutes after the actual end of the game in real time. I can also watch two games at once (live) by pausing and switching between channels. Wonderful invention that DVR.

This is one of those declaritive statements shrouded in half-truth.

Common and uninspired.

At Colorado Golf Club in Parker, CO, about 30 minutes south of Denver. Senior PGA Championship played there in 2010. Plays at about 6100 feet altitude.

Pepper wasn't talking about the LPGA, she was talking about the WNBA.

So, how was it up north Jakey? Didn't lose too many Pro V1's I hope.

Just think, we've got until next April before the media does another round of laying Woods on us. Bliss.

Not so fast there, Jonesy. Didn't he say he would play a PGA Tour event in October or something? And he'll play in the President's Cup in November. Look, every time he'll tee off somewhere, the golf press will cover it no matter where or when (and half of them will spray their shorts in the process). You'll hear about him long before next year's Masters.

September 21, 2011  11:51 AM ET

Ah yes The Solheim Cup about as exciting as well actually its not at all. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Pretty good. Weather was perfect, courses were in great shape and reasonably priced, I was ok tee to green but man was my putting off. No problems with the line but speed was horrible. Gonna have to get me one a dem dere belly putters. Yup, I'm sure that will solve all my problems :)
