08:07 AM ET 09.19 | Until now, international basketball had kept Marc Gasol's mind off the lockout. With a second straight European crown in his back pocket, Gasol now wants to hold on to another title: Grizzlies starting center. Gasol will be a restricted free agent whenever the NBA and its players' union agree to a new collective bargaining agreement. He wants to remain a Grizzly so much that you just might see the giant Spaniard strolling around town by the end of this month or early October. "I grew up in Memphis. I feel like it's my home," Gasol said. ... "They always say it's a business and there are bad sides to the business. We have to wait until it plays out. But I'm looking forward to something good happening."

Luckily for Memphis, he is a restricted free agent. Unlucky though is the lockout playing a factor for such great results last season.

True, but I can dream can't I?

Since you acknowledge this as just a dream, maybe you can fathom why Memphis would trade a 26 year old center for a 35 year old .point guard. If you can't come up with an answer that makes sense, wake up.

Good for him for wanting to stay in Memphis, he is showing the kind of loyalty that fans want to see. This is such a refreshing story instead of the typical selfishness guys like LBJ and melo have shown fans. The gasol family is a classy bunch.

He is staying....and if Memphis wants to continue to be relevant they better resign him.

It's nice to see player loyalty didn't die completely last summer between Carmelo and the three me-egos. I hope he stays in Memphis

I'd like to see a twin towers of him and Dwight Howard in Orlando. Of course, hell will freeze over first.
