Reid to blame for Vick injury?

08:04 AM ET 09.20 | As much as the Eagles' future is in Michael Vick's hands, so, too, is Vick relying on the Eagles for his own future. The notoriously cheap Philadelphia Eagles have dropped some real money to put together a real Dream Team. But in the end, it's all going to come down to Vick, isn't it? And more important, the way Vick is handled and used. So far, not so good. Vick was hurt Sunday night in a 35-31 loss to Atlanta, Week 2, when he was tackled into his own guy. He spit up blood and left the game with a concussion. He might be out for a while. It can happen to anyone in a football game, and it was just a freaky play with a freaky player. So was it Reid's fault? Well, kind of. Yes. And even if it wasn't, it was just too predictable.

dumbest opening thread of the week. Reid's fault? YGTBSM. Fox Sports has the same accuracy as it's Fox News....sensationalist crap.

FauxSports at it's finest. Vick wasn't even out of the pocket when he was hurt. Vick getting hurt is big news, so they shouldn't have to work this hard to twist up a story about it.

I read the article, the guy is in fantasy land drawing the thinnest threads to link his story to reality. It is a veritable history lesson on the Eagles and the last few years under Reid. To put Vick's injury on Reid is ludicrous.

Only thing Reid is to blame for is not challenging the call on the interception. Vick's injury was a fluke.

September 20, 2011  08:21 AM ET

He was spitting up blood like Charlie was on "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia". Kind of ironic.

Reid still has his heart on Kolb, where is he anyway?

Completely agree. I still have no idea why Reid didn't challenge that call.

How the hell is Reid to blame??? It was an accidental tackle into his own teammate. Stupid article........

Ried took him out? Didn't realize Andy was on the offense.

Vick was fine after the play. His mistake was getting between Andy and the hot dog guy on the sideline.

Well, Andy should have kept in an extra back to block guys from his own team.

Arizona, and playing well.

The irony is Michael Vick was actually standing inside the pocket when he got injured.

Listening to everyone saying he needs to go back to pocket play. "$5 million QB instead of $100 million dollar qb" like Dungy said. Fact is, he is the only qb that can run that offense, because he has the feet to run for his life. They have no line.

Some idiot asked me yesterday why the Eagles didn't put Kolb in

Ha!

Reminds me of two weeks ago... I was listening to Colin Cowherd on the radio and some guy called in about the Kansas City Chiefs claiming "Mike Vrabel is getting old"

Some real bright sparks up your way, huh?

IMO, the worst move they made this off-season was hiring Howard Mudd. His O-line coaching philosophy is the complete opposite of how the Eagle line is built.

And I think Howard Mudd is overrated. Indianapolis could never run the ball behind his lines... and Peyton Manning took less hits than most QBs because he gets rid of the ball faster than most QBs.

What kind of story is this? It blames Reid but doesn't blame Reid.

September 20, 2011  08:51 AM ET

I think everyone was expecting a game or two in which Vick would have to leave a game or sit out a game due to injury. This is one of those factors that was probably added into the 2011 season equation when they signed Vick and gave him the extension.

September 20, 2011  08:52 AM ET

Maybe Reid didn't like all the hype Vick was getting.

September 20, 2011  08:53 AM ET

Yeah, blame Reid.
