08:27 AM ET 09.20 | Mark Stuart is out to make a good impression -- again. As someone who was acquired by the Atlanta Thrashers prior to the NHL trade deadline last February, Stuart had a 23-game audition to make his mark. ... Stuart is known as a guy who can be a physical force. "He's one of the best open-ice hitters in the game -- he does a great job as far as letting the other forwards know that in the open ice, you better keep your head up. He's tremendous at that," said Jets defenceman Ron Hainsey. "The crowd is going to love the way he plays." At 27, Stuart quickly found himself a place in the leadership group on a young team. "He's just a great presence and a guy everyone looks up to and respects," said Jets captain Andrew Ladd.

Right now I'll bet the Jets fans will love anyone on the ice wearing one of their sweaters.

Absolutely have to see the start of the first home regular season game for the jets. They have sold out-yes sold out-2 practices already.

Wow! That's cool. I really enjoy seeing that sort of enthusiasm. They waited a long time and deserve to have a lot of fun this year. I hope they have a great season.

Wouldn't it be nice if Vs. made the Jets home opener the game of the week so we could all see it? I'm sure a Canadian tv company will be broadcasting it outside of the Winnipeg area.

the people of Winnipeg also love their new uniforms...I am being led to believe that they'll love pretty much anything or anyone that doesn't outright reject them.

TSN might but the CBC is running a 6 hour retrospective of the Leafs first two loses.

Man thats gonna be hard to deal with. The Canadians are my 2nd fave Team yet it would be awesome for the Jets to win such a monumental moment. Either way please do not soil it with a shoot out.

Don't hold your breath Phantom. We'll have hockey in Honolulu before Versus shows a hockey game with two Canadian teams in the US. The CBC will show the game in Canada...
