Will Parcells shake up Miami staff?

Bill Parcells is expected to join the Dolphins to oversee the franchise's football operations, and owner Wayne Huizenga now is not expected to sell the team. The intrigue that blurs the lines of football and finances may soon ripple throughout the Dolphins organization, as the job security of some assistant coaches and general manager Randy Mueller will apparently be left for Parcells to decide. Coach Cam Cameron's job appears more secure -- at least that's the message Huizenga delivered to Cameron during a 45-minute meeting Wednesday afternoon.

winning 8% of the time, does not equal job security in the nfl.

The current staff isn't get the job done, hasn't been getting the job done, so it's a NO BRAINER, the staff needs to be re-vamped just as much as the lousy roster needs to be shaken up. The dolphin GM needs to be FIRED ASAP. Mueller has done a pathetic job in Miami. He should be giving up his salary for the mess he's made. Cameron hasn't has much to coach with since the injury bug hit this team hard, and when you add in all the talentless draft picks and free agents they've wasted over the past few years, it's no mystery why this team needs Parcells in a BIG way.

If he doesn't, whats the point? oh i know, they may finally have a draft that matters.

December 20, 2007  08:22 AM ET

Will Parchell's shcke up the present staff??????????? It doesn't take a Bill Parcell's to figure that one out. Cam Cameron needs to go back to whatever he does best since he's proven he's in way overe his head on this deal. And I hope Parcell's becomes GM because the present one could find his as_ with both hands. There is some real talent on that Dolphin team that needs to be shored up by someone who knows and understands football like "The Tuna."

Well they didn't bring him in to hand out back slaps and Dolphin key chains..of course he is going to shake things up or more likely burn it to the ground and start fresh..stupid story.

December 20, 2007  09:54 AM ET

Why would he shake things up...there's been some much success in Miami....

December 20, 2007  10:17 AM ET

Cameron probably needs to resign. The team isn't going to be much better next year and he will have Parcells standing over him this offseason and all of next season.

LOL. Like the old guy from the comdien Jeff Dunhum.

December 20, 2007  11:54 AM ET

Hope so... it is not working now... They need a complete overhaul. They need to start at the top first.

December 20, 2007  12:11 PM ET

Here can be the dolphins offensive weapons next year. At QB - Drew Bledso, WR - Keyshawn Johnson & Terry Glenn, RB - Ricky Willams (but only if he gets his corn rows). Maybe the dolphins will win two games next year. Bill Parcells is the perfect example of "Show me the money"

December 20, 2007  12:13 PM ET

Haven't followed the Dolphins that closely this seson by any means, but was looking at each teams' records and scores yesterday, they have lost 6 games this year by a field goal or less. Much work to be done, regardless, but maybe not quite as bad as record would indicate. Still, you have to guess change is coming, if just to put failures behind them.

The Tuna is a shaker and makes major changes anytime he sees fit. I believe he will make some big changes and most likely Cam Cameron will have maybe one more year. New brooms sweep clean, and that applies particularly when you have a losing program like Miami. The Tuna wouldn't be coming in if all was well.

Parcells is a shaker and he wouldn't be coming in unless they wanted some changes. Cam Cameron will be gone pretty quick. New Brooms sweep clean.

December 20, 2007  02:07 PM ET

Maybe Bill will hire Nick Saban Back HAAAAA.

December 20, 2007  04:00 PM ET

The Tuna. Wow, who can stand up under the pressure of having him looking over their shoulder? I think he will clean house and bring in "Parcell's guys". Ditka should come out of retirement and coach the Fish. What a dynamic that would be!

December 20, 2007  04:04 PM ET

I hope Cam Cameron enjoyed his first win as a Head Coach because it's going to be his last.

Parcells isn't going to keep him. I think Bill goes for a defensive minded coach that he knows and trusts.

I don???t think he'll do too much, might be able to help draft or trade for players but other than that, it???ll take players on the field to win; but I think they???ll be better next year, but not by much, maybe say 5 or 6 games won.
Remember Parcells wasn???t all that successful with the Jets, New England, and Cowgirls, His NY Giants were a long time ago, in a land far far away!!!
