Oden one-and-done?

08:06 AM ET 09.22 | In retrospect, perhaps the Trail Blazers would have played things differently with Greg Oden. [Oden] feels like he'll sign the qualifying offer from the Blazers, play one season, then become and unrestricted free agent. He's not dumb. Oden holds all the leverage now, mostly because the Blazers handed it to him when they foolishly failed to extend his rookie contract. What we're talking about really, is an organization that once believed it was headed somewhere great having to come to grips with the notion that it's really starting over again. An amnesty deal will be part of that. So hire someone competent, Portland. Hire them quickly. And let the guy go to work.

Just retire Oden, you may still get into the Hall of Fame like Yao

Only in the NBA where an expiring contract is an asset does Greg Oden get MORE $$.

I can't believe he didn't sign the qualifying offer before July 1... Now that's stupid.

He does not have to sign by July 1st, only have it offered to him (see David Lee).

And why would the Blazers want to keep him again?
