08:08 AM ET 09.22 | While Aramis Ramirez may have one foot out the door, could Mike Quade have already managed his last game in Chicago? It could depend on what the new general manager wants to do. Quade said he hasn't thought about it. "Why would I? We're going to play today and I'm going to be back," he said. "That's the way I look at things. There's no other way to look at it. Why would I look at it any other way?" So the change in GM doesn't affect him? "There's nothing I can do about that," he said. ... He has not talked to Cubs chairman Tom Ricketts about the future. The Cubs still have six games to play in St. Louis and San Diego, and Quade is focused on that. "If they make a decision in a different direction, so be it," Quade said.

We need Pitchingggggggggggggggggggggggg and a couple of big bats. We ned RYNO. I doubt he would want to come back now after they run him out of town. Hopefull Ricketts can get this ship sailing instead of sunk in the dock.

It will all come down to who they hire as GM. If they can land a high-profile GM, then Quade is gone as manager. He is better suited to teach in the minors or be the bench coach, not the head guy. My fear is the new GM will believe the bullsh*t Quade spun last fall to get the job in the first place.

"There's no other way to look at it". Really? I got a sneaking suspicion that the next general manager is going to find another way to look at it.

quade needs to stop being the cubs manager, the options that this manager has? are either go back to the minors and become a minor league system manager, two he should go back to school and becomes mike sciocia studient, and three just stay away from the game!!

Anyone who thinks the Cubbies would have won significantly more games with Sandberg managing them have to be under the influence of Cubbie kool aid. Second half players, little clutch hitting, poor fielding, bad base running and inconsistent pitchers all make for a losing team.

If you had a new GM....and a new front office altogether...im pretty sure Ryno might come back..i mean...im about 75% on the side that he would NOT come back because one season after being so severely insulted by the team you're still the face of, one year isnt going to calm those nerves...id still be pissed...give Ryno maybe 2-3 years and MAAAAAYBE he will come back...but only if this team gets better with what it finds....I still think they should all be fired for hiring Quade in the first place!

First, where in this article did he say "Ill be back"? Anyway, I think Quade did a decent job on what he had to work with. Sure the Cubs were bad this year. But they could have been a lot worse. Quade did a great job handling the production of Castro and Barney. I agree they need starting pitching. I think they really need to try and re-sign Ramirez. He is a leader, and the only big name player that has been consistant.
