Pressure mounts on Mourinho

09:47 AM ET 09.22 | Jose Mourinho was today feeling the heat for the first time as Real Madrid manager. Wednesday's goalless draw at Racing Santander which followed the weekend's shock defeat at Levante has left Mourinho's side seventh in La Liga, three points adrift of league-leading Valencia. Real's start is the worst start to a league campaign since 2005-06, when Brazilian Vanderlei Luxemburgo was sacked before Christmas. A staggering 69 per cent of 75,000 responders to a poll by Madrid sports daily AS blamed Mourinho. Reports said that Mourinho was summoned to a meeting with the club high command at the end of Wednesday's game.

Mou is responsible. No question when you manage a team with that talent you have to find a way to win.
Or perhaps he'll end up like Ralf Rangnick, who stepped down as Schalke coach today because of "emotional stress".
And shout out to Miro Klose for scoring the winning goal for Lazio and now has 2 goals in three Serie A matches.

At least Barcelona is drawing too, albeit in a more entertaining fashion. Funny how the top two in the Premier League raced out to the front and in La Liga they are lagging behind. Maybe La Liga is competitive after all

I can't disagree with this, and I wonder why the bigger clubs haven't already done it, Arsenal especially

Mou is responsible no doubt. But how much pressure is there really. They are 3 back of Valencia which really should not be any cause for alarm at this point in the season.
I suppose it's really my fault that i read the dumb rumor.

It's a bit early in the day for you Playa, isn't it? You normally wait until post 100 before you start doing this.
Not sure this is what I need to see right when I get to work in the morning.

Claudio Ranieri officially announced as Inter coach.
It's an interesting hire, and Ranieri gets "results" in that his teams pick up points, but they rarely finish that well in the overall table and for a guy who's been managing very talented teams for two decades now, the only real trophies he won are are a Serie B Championship, a Coppa Italia, a Copa del Rey, and an Intertoto Cup.

Any rumors as to preferred formation or XI?

Can't be worse or stranger than what Gasp had going. Zanetti at striker. Sneijder playing center back. You know the norm...

Regarding the actual topic: At the risk of sounding like a Mou apologist, I don't see how this is his responsibility. This is the same formation and essentially the same players that had people clamoring about Madrid on the brink of overtaking Barca less than a month ago. Mou didn't get sent off over a stupid foul against Levante. He also didn't miss a bunch of sitters or defend like Abel Xavier after a roofie buffet.
Here is one of the reasons Madrid hasn't gotten itself back to the mountain top since 2002: it's always the fault of the manager, never the fault of the well paid, highly sought after players. Mou will ultimately pay the price if they don't win, but the players are the ones to blame.

Apparently someone has never heard of "total football".

"I???m focusing on really performing at my highest level. That doesn???t mean that the whole backline can perform at that same level, so that???s a problem. I think this is a team game and unfortunately there isn't an equal level between my teammates and I."

He's an old school catenaccio coach, so I'd imagine - with everyone healthy - you'll see:
--------------Cesar----------------------
Maicon-Lucio-Ranocchia-Nagatomo
---------------Cambiasso---------------
------Motta-----------------Stankovic--
------------------Sneijder----------------
-----------Forlan----------Milito---------
But of course, that leaves Zarate, Alvarez, and Pazzini on the bench, as well as Zanetti (who may slot in at left back), Poli, and Obi as people who can slot in at the midfield positions.
