08:18 AM ET 09.23 | Absent a lockout, Andrew Bogut would be back in Milwaukee getting ready for training camp. Bogut has been working out in his native Australia while recovering from off-season surgery on his right elbow, the one he injured on his gruesome fall at the Bradley Center in April 2010. I reached Bogut by e-mail and he answered a few quick questions. ... On how is elbow feels after the surgery performed in April by Dr. James Andrews and if he still has limitations: "I will have limitations my whole life, but compared to where I was this time last year, it's night and day better. I am shooting every day and lifting weights four times a week. My elbow still gets very achy if I overdo training (too many shots in one day)."

rondos injury is more nasty

He will never be the same player.

Pain is never your friend, Bro.

When you're in the gym, it is. Pain is weakness leaving the body.

QUOTE(#3):

And this is precisely why these players should be paid what they're paid. I've got yet to buy a ticket to watch an owner own, and I've never heard of an owner suffering a career ending injury tying their tie in the morning.

Yeesh, people get hurt a whole lot worse than this in jobs making a whole lot less. You could lose an arm or leg in construction, can't work and be left with nothing. A soldier makes maybe $40,000 on the front lines and could be killed anytime. Not saying that Bogut's injury is not serious and I do feel bad for him, but look at the big picture.

I fully agree. And his money is gauranteed anyways. It's not like as if he will lose his livelihood.

QUOTE(#12):

Nobody is paying money to watch a guy build a skyscraper, or watch a soldier get shot at. They are both noble professions and certainly worthy of higher pay (perhaps) but these athletes generate a lot of money in a career with a finite period within which they can earn a living. In my view they should be paid accordingly.

You hit the nail on the head! Athletes generate money, that's why they get paid.

QUOTE(#20):

Another boneheaded argument. No one pays to watch a guy build a building - and on the flip side, there is no finished product that the players build that can be used by anyone. One guy is building a product whose revenue comes from its later use, while the other is providing a service whose revenue involves people watching him. What the hell is your point here ?? Do you simply like to state obvious things and pass them off as legitimate arguments ? Of course the athletes are being paid accordingly. They are making millions of dollars that can last a lifetime. It does not mean that it is not possible to *overpay* them.

Well put, sir.
