Fred Taylor, who was having lunch with wife Andrea when he learned Tuesday that he didn't make the Pro Bowl roster, wasn't surprised that he was snubbed once again. "I don't try to get my hopes up too high," the Jaguars running back said. "I've been through it before. I've been down this road before." This time, Taylor was upset enough to consider declining an invitation to the NFL's all-star game if asked to be an injury replacement.

I wish I could have lunch with his wife Andrea

December 20, 2007  09:16 AM ET

as it should
he went from a glass running back, to a stalwart over the last 5-6 years and gets no love or credit for it
hopefully someone pulls out of the Pro Bowl so he can get in

December 20, 2007  09:20 AM ET

Stupid politics in the NFL...maybe he should smack some girl on the booty and get some negative publicity...that will do it...

December 20, 2007  09:21 AM ET

Tomlinson and Parker are deserving, but Taylor should have gotten the third spot over Addai.

December 20, 2007  09:53 AM ET

You play in Jacsonville what do you expect? Join an NFL franchise and you might get some consideration.

December 20, 2007  10:00 AM ET

No BigBlueNJ it should've been Tomlinson, Addai, and Taylor.

Granted Parker is the NFL's leading rusher but he's averaging 4.1 YPC compared to Taylor's 5.1 and has 2 TDs compared to Taylor's 4

Not to mention Taylor completely shredded one of the best run defenses in the NFL

December 20, 2007  10:01 AM ET

What about your boy Fargas?

December 20, 2007  10:04 AM ET

That'd be a biiiiiiiig stretch.

Sure he's running behind a pretty bad O-line but if he got in the NFL would explode.

He's injured anyways so it's all moot.

Raiders always get subbed.....

December 20, 2007  10:10 AM ET

BigBlue-

Addai 11 Touchdowns, 0 fumbles

Taylor 4 Touchdowns, 2 fumbles

December 20, 2007  10:12 AM ET

hey, you guys, this is a big time snub. It's so big it's just wrong. Taylor should have made the pro bowl. As a Colts fan, maybe I understand a little better how good the Jags are, now that they dumbed Leftwich. Fred Taylor is a great. He is very fierce.

December 20, 2007  10:13 AM ET

dumped*

December 20, 2007  10:16 AM ET

BostonRob, believe me, they are an NFL franchise. I tell people all the time, especially psycho Patriots fans, (present company excluded of course), that the Patriots are not our number one rivals. The Jags are.

December 20, 2007  10:26 AM ET

Joseph Addai - 4.1 ypc
Fred Taylor - 5.1 ypc

Joseph Addai - main RB with all the carries (except missed games) and 1019 yds. on 251 attempts with 11 TDs (all goal line carries and 3rd downs)
Fred Taylor - split RB carries with MJD and 1091 yds with 216 attempts. 4 TDs despite getting no goal line carries or 3rd downs.

Joseph Addai - lots of puplicity on the defending champs team in a big market franchise.
Fred Taylor - not much publicity on a team that never gets enough credit in a small market franchise.

That last one is what decided Addai over Taylor. The Pro bowl is a joke.

December 20, 2007  10:30 AM ET

Oh yeah... Joseph Addai's longest run is only 23 yards while Fred Taylor's is 80 yards. And he had one for 50 and one for 76. Fred Taylor has had 6 games with runs longer than 23 yards, Joseph Addai's longest of the season.

December 20, 2007  10:50 AM ET

Boston Rob, maybe you would be interested in my Super Bowl prediction....I know this is going to get me flack and keep in mind I'm not a Jaguars fan. So, here it is----Jacksonville vs. Green Bay.

December 20, 2007  10:58 AM ET

I can just see the Chris Crocker video on Youtube now, "WHY DIDN'T FRED TAYLOR GET TO THE PRO BOWL? **Sob** *Sob** All he did was run for a thousand yards and 4.1 ypc!!! **Sob** **Sob** And he has to put up with sharing carries with Maurice Jones Drew and still gets a ton of yards. It's just not FAIR!!! **Sob** **Sob**

December 20, 2007  11:01 AM ET

Only 1 RB in NFL history has ever rushed for 10,000 yards and never been named to the Pro Bowl:

meet Fred Taylor.

He'll probably end up in the HoF before the Pro Bowl...

December 20, 2007  11:15 AM ET

Who cares? Fred's still the man!

December 20, 2007  11:54 AM ET

Does it really matter? It's great that these guys get the recognition they deserve for being an outstanding player in their position BUT!!! Has anyone really watched a probowl lately??? These guy's go out on the field and give a halfhearted performance until the end of the game, get their check and head for the next luau in their honor. These guys are trying not to get hurt and save themselves for the offseason and next season. The game sucks!!! Do we really get to see why they made it? NO!!! I'd rather watch them throughout the season then give them their due with an incentive check for being voted best in their position for the season!!
