Sharks to look at Turco?

08:32 AM ET 09.23 | Ready for the Thomas Greiss era? Here's what we know: Sharks starter Antti Niemi reportedly could be out 12 weeks -- sidelining him for the season opener on Oct. 8. Backup Antero Niittymaki could be out until January, and top prospect Alex Stalock can't even suit up for practice until February of 2012, meaning the Sharks could face an early hurdle to getting off to the strong start they so desperately seek this season. Is it time to worry? Yes and no. ... Could Wilson be in the market for an experienced NHL backup, like, say, Marty Turco? You would have to think he's exploring that option, since the Sharks want to avoid their up-and-down first half of the season that they suffered through last year.

From the way he played last night, I would guess that Ray Emery is going to be available.

I know Turco isn't the answer...Just reference his work with the Hawks last year. And in his last three years the GAA has been above 2.70.

Hmm, someone must have read a name wrong. Niittymaki is out 12 weeks. Niemi is day to day. Greiss and Sateri likely to get majority of preseason starts (fighting for the multi-month backup position). (And they have Heemskerk and Sexsmith for more depth/Worcester.) No way I see Sharks signing yet another goalie, especially Turco the sieve.
