08:14 AM ET 09.26 | The bone bruise Jair Jurrjens developed this summer may not keep him from the postseason, after all. [Jurrjens] returning for a potential first-round playoff series still seemed unlikely, but Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez left open the possibility Sunday. Jurrjens threw 44 pitches in three innings of an Instructional League game Saturday in Florida, his first time pitching in a game of any sort since an Aug. 30 start against Washington. "He did OK," Gonzalez said Sunday. "His velocity was up. Not up, but where it???s supposed to be. He was using his legs." Given the depleted state of the Braves pitching staff, "OK" just might be enough.

'Jurrjens returning for a potential first-round playoff series still seemed unlikely....'

the Braves returning to the playoffs also seems unlikely at this point. but when you can't score any runs with the bases loaded and no outs, you probably don't need to go anyway.

Lately it hasn't been pitching, it's been the offense that is the problem.

the braves have choose heyward over jose constansa in the LF, but heyward lacks in productivity, can't hit for power, can't hit doubles, can't hit at all, its a shame the braves waste talent in the bench just because they want to play heyward, does the braves are getting good out put from the LF? no, because as long that slump player its in the lineup the braves will continue lacking in offense!!

Playoffs? You better be praying to the high heavens above that the Astros come through.
