08:03 AM ET 09.27 | On a play many thought to be the Vikings' most important this past Sunday, Adrian Peterson was a very expensive decoy. Peterson took the professional approach Sunday when discussing his lack of carries in the second half, but make no mistake about his frustration. The Minnesota Vikings' star running back is upset with the team's abandonment of the running game in the second half of Sunday's 26-23 overtime loss to Detroit, Peterson's father, Nelson Peterson, said [Monday]. After 12 carries for 73 yards in the first half, the Vikings rushed Peterson five times for five yards in the second half. ... Quarterback Donovan McNabb attempted 18 second-half passes. "I see the agony on his face," Nelson said of his son. "He was frustrated that they weren't going to him."

A couple more losses, and its time for Minny to put the rookie in.

"Time to start thinking of Ponder as a noun, not a verb." Great line!

Everyone is already screaming for Ponder here! He's not going to do any better than McNabb. he'll probably do worse.
That means the the Vikings will do it.
they always do the opposite of what they should do.

Time to go with Ponder, if they are losing anyway then what is the problem?

I know you're a die-hard Minny fan, but the fact is McNabb is done.
If the Vikings were actually a good QB away, (like Favre was SUPPOSED to be) it would be okay to go with him. But if they continue to lose, why waste time on a washed up Veteran QB, instead of protecting the future of the franchise and its investments by starting your future franchise QB?
Duh.

Honestly, McNabb just isn't what he used to be. It's better to groom talent than ride a dead horse.

I wouldn't say yank him now, but in a couple of weeks at the current pace....

It figures- Dallas loses and we get three threads about Romo being a dope and how bad our offense is.....we manage to pull a gut check and our defense plays well.....and ....... NO LOVE! Where you at Chico ?

No doubt McNabb is done- he needs to now shift his focus to helping Ponder prepare. I know that is not a position that most egotistical QB's are willing to step into, or have any desire to do. But at some point you just have to realize you can't get it done. If you can't cut it in Andy Reid's QB friendly system, there is no where else in the NFL for your.

Afte the fourth field goal I honestly thought we were toast, I was watching the game with a whole bunch of friends who were all Redskins fans and they were saying what I was thinking- the next play was going to be a 80yd Grossman to Moss TD.....Our defense really saved our O's butt, because our receivers looked like they were picked up off the corner and thrown into the game the way they played.

Maybe they can get Harbaugh once San Francisco decides he's not the answer.
