08:01 AM ET 09.28 | And to think, this is what so many feared. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell wants "a little snow" for Super Bowl XLVIII, and he could very well get his wish. When MetLife Stadium plays host to the National Football League title game in early 2014, it will be the first Super Bowl played in the Northeast. ... "Some of our most memorable games are played in unusual weather circumstances. Winter and cold (are) part of football. Snow is also," Goodell said Tuesday morning at a breakfast given by the Super Bowl Host Committee at the Museum of Modern Art. "I did notice on the logo a little snowflake. I think that's great, because a little snow would be great for us."

I always thought it ironic that the NFL pushed for the NY Super Bowl about a week after they basically told Miami that they wouldn't get another Super Bowl unless they built covering over the seating area of the Miami stadium because the bigwigs didn't want to get wet at such a big event.

Is MetLife Stadium grass or turf? If it's turf, we need to get the Solider Field crew to handle the field. They do a remarkable job in Chicago. Did anyone catch the Packer-Bear(ly) game and see the "dangerous condition" time-out while they removed the 5" spike that was holding a clod of sod down to the field. On second thought I hope it's turf.

They could bring the famous Patriot Snowplow out of retirement for the game. Have them use it to clear a space for the coin toss.
