Time for Notre Dame's Floyd to break out

08:18 AM ET 09.30 | In the course of a few minutes this past Saturday, Michael Floyd went from productive to forgotten. He caught three passes on the first four snaps of the game (for 20 yards), then didn't catch another one until mop-up time with less than a minute to play in the game. Floyd didn't skip an NFL opportunity to return for his senior year just to occupy defenders while teammates catch the passes. There's gotta be a better way. It starts by figuring out the situation. ... Suffice it to say, Floyd became a non-entity early in the game. Is there a way to get Floyd involved? Does it take an offensive genius to come up with a plan? He needs to be a factor Saturday night against Purdue.

Nothing wrong with being a decoy, drawing two defenders and freeing up another receiver. Floyd has caught passes downfield all season, and will continue to do so, depending on the defensive scheme against him.
He also needs a QB who can get the ball to him. Tommy Rees is trying, but doesn't have the strongest or most accurate arm around.
What's the story here?
