08:46 AM ET 10.02 | Remember how Tom Brady wasn't quite right during training camp and the preseason? How his throws were off, and very un-Brady-like? Then, suddenly, he was back to being his usual master of perfection, the model of precision and accuracy when the season started? Turns out he had a special visitor over Labor Day weekend. His longtime quarterback coach and guru, Tom Martinez, who has been battling serious health issues related to complications from diabetes, made the trip from the West Coast to visit his prized pupil. During the stay, Martinez and Brady watched film of the quarterback's delivery, the mentor diagnosed several problems with his mechanics, and Brady went about correcting them before the season opener in Miami.

After last week, maybe he needs another visit.

I think their defense could use a guru.

Last week he made a few uncharacteristic mistakes for sure, though one of his int's was tipped by the receiver (catchable, but not a very good throw) and another bounced off the helmet of a defender that wasn't even looking. The second one bounced 20 yards to the left to a guy who I assume was doing his job watching the back (weak) side and was/should have been a mile away from the play. Instead he ends up with a TD, proving that sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.

Get well Tom Martinez

What that defense needs most is a couple of big, mean, nasty linebackers. Mayo is darn good, but he can't do it alone.

Pass rush anyone?

that's true but he just not a quarterback

"Earlier in the year, Martinez let it be known he was gravely ill and only had a short time to live. His prognosis and outlook isn???t quite as grim at the moment thanks to the opinions of new doctors. He???s hoping to have a kidney transplant before long."

The visit with Brady may have helped lift his spirits. I wonder if he's the one who told Brady to get a haircut.

As for the defense needing a guru...I don't think even the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi could help them.

Dallas TD!!!

Guru to Brady: Forget about throwing to Ochocinco.

Having those LB's would allow BB to dial up a pass rush by sending just one extra body instead of having to bring the house and hanging his DB's out to dry.

Half time things I have learned:

A Bengal does not change his stripes.

The steelers may not be old and slow, but they are older and slower.

If your defense has been playing lousy, then play the 49ers and you will feel better about yourself.
