Nnamdi feeling heat in Philly

09:06 AM ET 10.02 | The criticism has come from fans, media, even those who have played and coached the game. They see the Eagles' 1-2 record. They see a defense that has allowed eight touchdown passes in its last two games. They remember Nnamdi Asomugha, with his new team and his hefty paycheck, looking up as Giants wideout Victor Cruz outjumped him for the go-ahead touchdown in New York's 29-16 win last Sunday. They think the All-Pro corner can't play in the Eagles' zone defense after years of nearly exclusive man coverage in Oakland, even if zone is considered easier to play.

Get used to it Nnamdi, Philly fans are brutal.

Maybe it's because Juan Castillo can't coach a defense for ****!

Philly fans have no tolerance for terrible play. But hey, I'm a Cowboys fan for life and I'm glad the Eagles are in the basement of the NFC East. Now we need the Giants and deadskins to keep losing.

The Eagles have lost five of the last six games they have played. I think their fans are a little edgy.

The fans are just trying to make him better. Ask Mike Schmidt.

Give the guy some time, he will shine. Besides, most of the touchdowns have come from the linebacker coverage, not the defensive backs. Reid has never addressed the need of the linebackers in his tenure.

Philly fans have no tolerance for any team that isn't in first place.

They should have signed a few free agent LB's instead of signing Asomugha.

Primed for another day watching football all day long....

The Badgers really crushed the Cornhuskers. They looked very dominant.

Welcome to the SEC, Texas A&M.

And Nebraska to the Big 10

That would require Reid caring about the position, which doesn't seem it will ever happen.

October 2, 2011  10:06 AM ET

Personally, I don't understand why the hell he's playing in zone coverage to begin with.

I was always under the impression that Eagles defense was to play their top two cornerbacks in man coverage, to eliminate the opponents top two receiving threats... and then play a combination of zone blitz everywhere else.

Black Shirts didn't exactly "show up", did they?

Why did Nebraska fans wear black? Was it because they were in mourning?

And I think that has a lot more to do with it than Asomugha.

Every week I see Eagles players caught well out of position. It's the defensive coordinator's job to make sure his guys are in position to make a play - and Juan Castillo is failing miserably.

They didn't want to get confused with the Badgers fans is what I had heard.

Everyone would just be wearing the same colors.
