Bills D shrinks from challenge

08:01 AM ET 10.03 | What a difference a week makes. One week ago, the Bills were 3-0 after finally beating the Patriots. They're 3-1, still tied for first in the AFC East. But this loss raises some fundamental issues and makes you wonder if the Bills are equipped to make a serious playoff run. "This game should have been over mid-third quarter," said cornerback Drayton Florence. "We should have kept our foot on their throats and put them out of their misery." ... OK, they're 3-1. No need to panic. But the defense was supposed to be significantly better this season. It's better, but this was a big step back. Good defenses don't give up 450 yards three weeks in a row. They don't give up 450 three times in a year.

Experience shows, though, that once the Bills get on a losing streak it lasts a while. Last year they started in week 1. This year it's week 4.

letdown after a big game. defense hasn't been that good this year, so not a huge surprise they couldn't stop Cincy at the end. the real question is offense, after facing 3 of 11 worst defenses, came across a top 5 and put up half the points. need to be able to put up points on good and bad defenses, not just bad ones.

Well, they sure celebrated like it after the game.
Look the coach knows he has a crappy defense. He had his QB take a knee three times in a tie game for chrissakes before attempting the game winning field goal so Brady couldn't have the ball back. I've been watching football for 40+ years and I've never seen that.
Buffalo will live (not likely) or die (very likely) with that fine offense of theirs. Those warm bodies on D are just along for the ride.
