08:07 AM ET 10.03 | Is this Dwight Howard's year? It might not be the Magic's year, but I predict this is the season (if there is one) that Dwight breaks through and wins the MVP. ... Howard will make max money wherever he goes, but players always turn it up a notch in their contract year. Whether it's ego or simply wanting to prove a point, pending free agents want to maximize their worth to potential suitors and commercial advertisers. It's all about the brand, ya know. Plus, I can see Howard single-handedly pushing the Magic to 54 wins (or 33 if there's a 50-game season) -- a respectable enough total for those MVP voters whose criteria is heavily based on the standings.

Definitely... Particularly this statement: "Dwight breaks through..." What does that even mean? Dwight has been amongst MVP discussions for the past few seasons, I'm not quite sure what constitutes a "break through"?

Only way he wins the MVP is if his team plays extremely well this season and play consistent. If they have an up and down season he will not win the MVP award. Chicago was very consistent last season.
